Straw Hat Pizza Celebrates 12 Years of School Valentine Program



Straw Hat Pizza’s School Valentine Program will give away 50,000 Heart Shaped Pizzas

San Ramon, CA, February 10, 2018:  Straw Hat Pizza, the original California Pizza since 1959, announced it will give away around 50,000 individual heart shaped pizzas starting on February 14th, 2018.  This is part of a program with schools where teachers are provided with Valentine Cards to give to their students for Valentine’s Day.  Each Card is good for a free individual heart shaped pizza at their local Straw Hat Pizza location.  No purchase is required to get the free pizza. 

This will be the twelfth year Straw Hat Pizza has partnered with local schools on this program.  It allows the teachers a way to give something to their students.  Our restaurants are proud to work with schools and give back to the community.

“We hope the whole community comes out to taste why Straw Hat Pizza has been around for more than 50 years, and to try our pizza,” said Varun Limbacjiya, franchisee of Straw Hat Pizza Alameda. 

The heart shaped pizza is a 6 inch pizza perfect for one person.  The student gets their choice of one topping.

San Jose Straw Hat Pizza supports Loaves and Fishes on National Pizza Day

February 9th is National Pizza Day.  This year the Straw Hat Pizza in San Jose celebrated by participating in Slice Out Hunger's "Pizza Across America" event.  (http://sliceouthunger.org/pizza-across-america)   The event coordinated pizzerias across the U.S. to give to local soup kitchens. 

Suleman and Rhonda Chaudhary, the owners of the Straw Hat Pizza in San Jose, CA partnered with Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen (https://www.loavesfishes.org) donating 10 pizzas.  Loaves & Fishes has served the San Jose area for more than 37 years providing over half million meals each year.

Straw Hat Pizza Opens in Williams, California


After closing in July, new owners have taken over and brought back Straw Hat Pizza to Williams, California

Williams, CA, December 21, 2017:  Straw Hat Pizza, the original California Pizza since 1959, announced it opened a new location in Williams, California.  This location has been closed back in July.  It is now owned by Robbie and Sukhvinder Bassi, and Garry Saini who operate locations in Yuba City, CA and Fairfield, CA. “We’re excited to be part of Williams,” said Sukhvinder Bassi, “Williams and Straw Hat are great places for families.” 

The restaurant features an upbeat and eclectic d├ęcor, a clean and comfortable dining room, a kid’s clubhouse game room, and a bountiful salad bar.

The new owners plan on offering delivery service in the near future.  In a small community with lack of other delivery options the new owners are excited they will soon offer better convenience to local families.

Straw Hat Pizza will be open for business to the public on December 21st, 2017.  Our operating hours are 11:00am until 9:00pm Sunday through Thursday and 11:00am through 10:00pm on Friday and Saturday.

Watsonville Straw Hat Pizza Recognized as Great Place to watch Warriors Play!

The Watsonville Register-Pajaronian Paper published an article on the best places to watch the Warriors play and the local Straw Hat Pizza was recognized.  Here is an excerpt from the article:

"Watsonville High basketball coach James Gomez said his favorite spot to catch any game is Straw Hat Pizza in the Safeway Shopping Center.

“They have tons of TVs,” Gomez said. “Everywhere you look you have a TV in front of you.”

Straw Hat Pizza has more than 30 televisions scattered around the restaurant and has deals on pizza: $3 off a large and $4 off an extra large pizza."
